PROPOSAL

Each and every day, people reach for their makeup and skincare products to make them feel beautiful and confident about themselves. What many people don’t realize, however, is that these products have often been tested on harmless animals. Animal testing is a prevalent issue in the cosmetic world today as many believe it is necessary and others believe it to be inhumane and an awful practice. Animals should not be used as test subjects because it is unethical, unnecessary, and it does not ultimately benefit us. Animals are different than humans and it is cruel to put them through torture for humans to buy products to look and feel beautiful. So many companies test on animals while other companies don’t and there is nothing different about those companies besides the fact that they test on animals. People should not be testing on animals for human benefits. It is inhumane and doesn’t benefit humans because animals don’t use consumer products. 

This topic would benefit an audience as it impacts people’s cosmetics daily. It’s important to share this information so those that use cosmetic products can learn and be aware of what goes into creating their cosmetic companies. The culture this topic represents the most are the members in the beauty community. However, this topic affects anybody that uses cosmetic, skincare, haircare, or even cleaning solutions. 

I plan to utilize a website to share my topic with the class. I think this platform will allow for a variety of medium, such as video, text, pictures, and voice memos that I can use on the website to share my research.
